Corsets date back to the 19th Century, when used to achieve the fashionable small waist of the period. Our Renaissance Corset reflects this time. The Lace Up Corset, laced tightly at the front or back of the waist and were the subject of great controversy from around 1850, when reform groups protested at the physical damage caused by tight lacing. Despite these protests, the late 19th century produced the most elaborate shapes achieved by corsetry. The S-Bend Silhouette Sexy Corset became popular.
