Evening Corsets & Bustiers
Corsets and Bustiers are now a remarkable fashion garment as lingerie or evening wear from our decendants of the 15th century bodice. The 19th century corset, used to achieve the fashionable small waist of the period, corsets were usually constructed of whale bone pieces inserted as panelling in to the fabric shape. They laced tightly at the front or back of the waist. The S-Bend Silhouette became popular, created by corsets which reached down over the hips and thrust the bust forward. Corsets have always been made in different colours, the most popular of which are black, white, red and pink. In 1987 Vivienne Westwood included push-up corsets, based on the 18th-century models, in her collection. In the 1990s many designers included corsetry in their designs for both underwear, lingerie and outerwear, such as short evening dresses with flared skirts attached to coset bodices, bras built into business suit jackets, metallic and leather corsets worn over dresses as vests. These corsets are made of foam and Lycra, with plastic stays.
We are delighted with this seasons range of Evening Corsets and Bustiers in this department.
